How It Works
Image Wand is Apple Intelligence image generation feature that allows users to create images by sketching or describing what they want. Users can draw a rough sketch or enter a text prompt, and the AI generates a photorealistic or illustrative image based on their input. The feature works within the Image Playground app and integrates into other Apple apps like Notes and Messages. Complex image generation tasks use Private Cloud Compute for enhanced quality, while simpler generations run on-device.

AI Processing Flow
On-device model processes simple prompts using the Apple Neural Engine. Complex prompts or high-resolution generations are routed to Private Cloud Compute, where Apple processes them in secure, isolated environments. No personal data is retained.
