Galaxy AI Assistant
Samsung's Galaxy AI Assistant provides voice-based assistance, contextual recommendations, and proactive help on Galaxy devices.
Why It Exists
Users need seamless intelligent assistance that works across all Galaxy apps and services without manual setup or separate app installations.
How It Works
Galaxy AI Assistant is Samsung's on-device AI assistant that delivers intelligent voice interactions, contextual app suggestions, and proactive notifications. It leverages the Galaxy device NPU and Samsung Cloud services to understand user intent and provide relevant assistance across all Galaxy apps and services. The assistant supports natural language queries, smart home control, calendar management, and multilingual interactions.
Everyday Use Cases
- Voice queries
- App recommendations
- Proactive reminders
- Smart home control
- Calendar management
- Multilingual translation
User Workflow
- Say 'Hi Bixby' or long-press the power button
- Ask a question or give a voice command
- Assistant processes the request using on-device NPU
- Results are displayed as voice response, visual card, or app action
- Follow-up questions continue the conversation naturally
AI Processing Flow
Voice input is captured and processed by on-device speech recognition models running on the NPU. Wake word detection happens entirely on-device. Complex queries are routed to Samsung Cloud for LLM processing. Responses are synthesized locally for speed or fetched from cloud for advanced topics. Contextual data from apps and settings informs recommendations.
